Sidney – Grand Prize Winner of $1,000,000 TAX FREE CA$H

A Nanaimo man is $1 million richer after he finally stopped ignoring the persistent telephone calls. “Some guy kept calling me at work and left messages begging me to call him," Sidney said.

"I didn’t return his calls because people are always calling me looking for money."

But the caller didn’t want money; he wanted to tell Sidney he’d won the grand prize in the Million Dollar Lottery 2001.

Sidney, the owner of a mobile home park, said he bought two of the $100 lottery tickets as a way to support the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital – which helped him after he had a cardiac arrest a couple years ago.

"I certainly didn’t expect to win the $1 million," he said. "In fact, my office manager was going to rip the tickets up, as we thought I hadn’t won because we never heard anything after the draw. When I finally found out I had won, I couldn’t believe it."

Sidney said he will use most of his winnings to pay some of the mortgage on his business.

"In the meantime, I intend to join my wife in Hawaii for a vacation on the Pacific Islands," he said.
