Variety – The Children’s

for BC’s children. Since 1965, Variety has spearheaded capital
campaigns to build BC Children’s Hospital, Canuck Place,
The Down Syndrome Research Institute and Resource Centre, BC Family
Hearing Resource Centre, and most recently, The Variety C.H.I.L.D.
Gastroenterology and Liver Research Laboratory at BC Children’s
Hospital. Variety also supports pediatric and special care nurseries
in hospitals throughout the province and has an Emergency Response
Fund to assist financially-overburdened families with out-of-town
travel and accommodation costs when a child requires time-sensitive
medical care. Individual Grants are given to families that cannot
afford medical equipment and therapies for their children with
special needs, and Organization Grants help fund special programs
and projects such as The Mel Jr. & Marty Zajac Foundation’s
Zajac Ranch for Children, which gives kids with serious and chronic
illnesses a chance to experience the joy of summer camp. Variety
is also proud to support the Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
